Parent University (Tuesday, Sept. 1)

Concerts at Civic Plaza (Fridays Sept 3rd and Sept 17th)
Mountain View is again hosting music at Civic Plaza!  Come dance and picnic and enjoy your neighbors  6 pm – 7:30 pm.

Kids Concerts at Magic Bridge Playground (Friday, Sept 3rd)
Each Friday in the summer at 6 pm the Magic Bridge Playground offers free kids music and lots of family fun!  Bring a picnic and enjoy the show!  The next show features Lori and RJ/Cotton candy Express Music.

Shakespeare in the Park (Sept 4- Oct 10th)
SF Shakespeare in the Park is a wonderful family tradition!  Grab a blanket and picnic and enjoy a delightful performance of Pericles, Prince of Tyre.  We’ve never tried the SF location but the Redwood City location is wonderful!

Mountain View Art and Wine Festival (Saturday, Sept. 11)
It’s back!  Get ready to enjoy some outdoor art, food and delicious wine!  The pre-tickets are sold out, but they will allow some walk-ins; arrive early if you don’t already have a ticket!

Outdoor Storytimes (Tuesdays)
Bring a blanket and enjoy stories and songs in the shade of the old oak in Pioneer Park every Tuesday morning at 10:30 am.  No registration is necessary — just show up!

Zumba Classes (Sunday afternoons)
As a new Zumba instructor, I would love to have some friends join me for my first classes.  Starting on September 19th, I’ll be hosting some informal Sunday afternoon Zumba parties on the basketball courts area near Theuerkauf Elementary School to practice my teaching, get some exercise and have fun!  If you want to join me, please shoot me an email and I’ll keep you posted of all upcoming Zumba parties!

Conversation with Joanna Ho (Wednesday, Sept 29th)
Joanna Ho, author of Eyes That Kiss in the Corners and the upcoming book Playing at the Border: A Story of Yo-Yo Ma, will hold a conversation for “caregivers and educators about kids, self-acceptance, and anti-racism.”

Filoli Summer Evenings (Thursdays)
One of our favorite times to visit Filoli is on Thursday evenings.  The garden stays open until 8 pm and there is usually music, a drink stand, and a food truck. Bring a picnic and enjoy the long summer evenings!  Remember to make a reservation ahead of time. YMCA Kids Club Open

The El Camino YMCA kids club is now open! You can sign up for a slot (e.g., T/Th mornings or MWF mornings).  The number of kids per slot is limited to ten and you keep the same cohort of kids for the duration of the session (a few weeks).  Even though there could in theory be up to ten kids, it was pretty empty when I went (as families come at different times and don’t make every morning).  https://ymap.ymcasv.org/PersonifyEbusiness/Program-Search/CAT/WEB_FAMILY/WL/Y/AUTO/Y/BR/EC
