The library has lost it’s beloved rat sculpture and needs your help solving the mystery of where it has gone and who took it!  Follow clues and solve puzzles with your kiddos to discover the truth.  I think this one better than the last library scavenger hunt — don’t miss it!  You can request your package of clues with your Grab n Go bag of books.

Librarian Sharon Retirement Cards
From a NextDoor post (Thanks, Sharon!!):

After over twenty years, our beloved children’s librarian Sharon McClintock is retiring from the Mountain View Public Library. (May 3rd, 2021)

Ms. Sharon, as many families know her, has been creating community at the library by leading bouncing babies and their parents in sing-a-longs, planning parent education and author events, performing for the summer reading program, inspiring kids with book clubs, giving school class tours, and so much more.

For those who want to send congratulations and share what an impact she has had, cards will be accepted at the library (address below) or you can send her an email at : welovesharonlibrarian@gmail.com.

This message was created by friends of Sharon who hate the fact that Covid hasn’t allowed a proper send off. We hope you will take a moment to acknowledge her impact and forward this to anyone you know who might want to contribute.

For cards:

Mountain View Chinese Library
This is a hidden gem for kids learning Chinese. Check it out! (We haven’t been going for a while, since their classes are all online due to COVID, but during normal times their in-person music class was a hit with Jonathan).

YMCA Classes
I’ve been a big fan and evangelist for the YMCA for several years now, and have been so pleased with how they’ve handled the pandemic — from providing childcare for essential workers to creating safe avenues for staying healthy in both mind and body.  Indoor classes (with masks and distancing) at the El Camino branch stated May 1st (and there are still lots of great outdoor classes).

Mothers Together Mountain View (Thursdays)
Menlo Church Mountain View has been hosting a fantastic mom’s group for many years.   However, with the. conveniences  of Zoom, it is particularly easy to join in right now.   My small group ‘meets’ online at 8 pm on Thursdays (and there is a Thursday morning option too if that works better for your schedule). The format is a short talk from a speaker (usually 30 minutes),  followed by discussion, sharing and prayer. The women in my group are so warm and welcoming,  and would be delighted to have new moms join.  Just shoot me an email if. you are interested and I can give you more information.  Or just sign up to check it out here:
