Mountain View Firefighter Pancake Breakfast (Saturday, 28th)
Get ready for one of the highlights of the year (for a preschooler!)!  The Mountain View fire department raises funds for burn victims through their popular pancake breakfast.  Although the food is good, the real fun is the firefighting demos and shows!  Join the fun on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Fire Station #4 (229 N. Whisman Road).

Parenting Program: Highly Sensitive Children (Wednesday, Sept 18)
The library parenting series is resuming for the school year, and starting the lineup is a talk by Sylvia Ford with tips on raising a sensitive child.  They request registration here: https://mountainview.libcal.com/event/5527021

Concerts on the Plaza (Fridays Sept 6th and Sept 20th)
One of the many great things about Mountain View is the series of free concerts they have at the Civic Center during the summer.  In years past they have been held the first Friday of each month (April – Sept).  However, this year they will now be held the first Friday AND the third Friday — TWICE the fun!  Concerts run 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There is a pop-up play area for the kids, and food trucks, too!  https://www.mountainview.gov/depts/cs/events/plazaevents.asp

Free Home Depot Craft Workshop (Saturday, September 7th)
This month you can build a scarecrow planter at Home Depot (at least at the Sunnyvale Kifer location) . Get there early to get an apron and good spot at the table, and make sure you sign up ahead of time! 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

El Camino YMCA Parents Day Out, Parent’s Night Out, and Gym Tots Resume
If you are YMCA member, check out the great kids programming starting up!

Parents’ Day Out
Kids stay at the YMCA to enjoy some playtime, movie and pizza while mom and dad get date time.  The time is always 2:30-6:30 and dates for 2019/20 is Sept 21, Oct 12, Nov 2, Dec 21, Jan 11, Feb 8, March, 7, April 18, May 30, June 6.

Parents’ Night Out
Similar to Day Out but later in the evening.  I didn’t jot down the info (since it is past our bedtimes:), but call the YMCA if you are interested.

Gym Tots (Tuesdays at 11 am – 12 noon, Thursdays 10:15-11:15 am)
Play time, songs, parachute games, bubble fun and much more! Starts on Sept 2nd.  A parent or caregiver mush attend, as this class is aimed at kids 1-3 years old.

Gym Kids (Tuesdays 10 am – 11 am)
This is for slightly older kids than Gym Tots — 3-5 years — and lets kids play educational games together with an instructor without their parents.

Mothers Together Resumes (Thursdays 9:30-11:30 am)
Menlo Church’s Mountain View campus has a great mothers program that meets at First Presbyterian Church on Thursdays.  This group has been a huge blessing to me and many of my friends.  Resumes Sept 5th — and I can’t wait!  Register for childcare here: https://menloppc.infellowship.com/UserLogin/Index?ReturnUrl=%2fForms%2f426031
